Adult Landscape Painting Studio

Tuesdays, January 13 - February 17, 2026  (6 weeks $222)

Morning Sessions 10:00-Noon   or    Evening Sessions 6:30-8:30pm 

  @ Center for Creative Arts at Shady Grove UMC, Short Pump

 

In this focus session, students will learn the elements and techniques to paint impactful landscapes!  Learn aerial perspective, color changes, color mixing, values, brushwork, composition and sketching!  All levels welcome!  Students may paint in oils or acrylics and must provide their own supplies.  Email the Center for Creative Arts for a supply list.  You may join these studio classes any time on a pro-rated basis!

Adult Open Painting Studio

Tuesdays, February 24 - March 31, 2026  (6 weeks $222)

Morning Sessions 10:00-Noon   or    Evening Sessions 6:30-8:30pm 

  @ Center for Creative Arts at Shady Grove UMC, Short Pump

 

In this open studio session, students will work on individual projects of their choice with guided assistance, demonstrations, and topics of discussion from the instructor.  Students may work in acrylics, oils, and drawing.  This class provides a nurturing environment to elevate your creativity!  All levels welcome!  Students provide their own supplies.  If you are new to painting and drawing, contact the Center for Creative Arts to obtain a supply list.  You  may join these studio classes any time on a pro-rated basis!

April Plein Air Painting Workshop

Tuesdays, April 7 and 14, 2026 (2 weeks $74)

Mornings 10:00-Noon  or  Evenings 6:00 - 8:00pm (earlier time due to sunset)

(Rain/harsh wind make up date - April 21)

    @ Center for Creative Arts at Shady Grove UMC, Short Pump

 

In this workshop, students will learn about the gear, techniques, benefits and importance of painting in the great outdoors!  En plein air began with the Impressionists and the movement is very active today.  We will paint one session on campus and the second session off site at Wellesley or Echo Lake.
